Pizza and Smart TVs
It’s Super Bowl weekend, and you know what that means! Football? Pre-games? Commercials? No silly, it means food! Certainly, the game, analysis, and commercials all fit in beautifully with a website dedicated to television, specifically Smart TVs, but how can we tie food into your TV experience? By ordering a pizza, of course! Sure, there’s snacks, chips, salsa, buffalo wings, soda, beer, BBQ, hot dogs, and a host of other yummy dishes served at game time and related parties, but probably nothing is more American and more of a Super Bowl meal than pizza.
According to CTV News, Domino’s Pizza is teaming up with Samsung to track your pizza. Yes, NSA follows all your movements, but who is keeping track of your pizza? Samsung and Domino’s, that’s who. On the bottom of your Samsung Smart TV, there will be a ticker available to track the delivery progress of your order on your TV.
“Currently available on mobile and online, the Domino’s Pizza Tracker allows customers to track their pizza from the moment they place their order to the time it goes in the oven and finally when it’s sent out for delivery.
For the first time, in advance of the big game on Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, the chain will be launching the same service for owners of the Samsung Smart TV, the first time the tracker has been made available on a TV platform.
On game day, the busiest delivery day of the year for the chain, Domino’s expects to deliver more than 11 million pizza slices and more than 3 million chicken wings nationwide — an 80 percent increase from a typical Sunday.”
